As the first science and innovation community in Kunshan, Jiangsu, the "Xinxin Sci-Tech Park" officially opened recently. During the event, there were various showcases of innovative applications focused on the intelligent development of industries such as green energy. This marked a promising beginning in promoting high-quality transformation and upgrading of industries in Kunshan.

ALVA Systems, in collaboration with State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) Group, showcased intelligent solar power plant operation and maintenance applications based on AR technology, highlighting the crucial role of AR technology in the development of intelligent photovoltaic systems.

"Empowering Intelligence" is the Trend

In 2022, the National Energy Administration and four other departments issued the "Action Plan for Innovative Development of Intelligent Photovoltaic Industry (2021-2025)" in order to accelerate the achievement of intelligent manufacturing, intelligent applications, intelligent operation and maintenance, and intelligent dispatching. This plan aims to comprehensively enhance the quality and efficiency of China's photovoltaic industry development and promote the rapid achievement of the "dual carbon goals". This policy provides ample support for the development of the intelligent photovoltaic industry.

Meanwhile, driven by the advancements in next-generation technologies, the photovoltaic industry is undergoing deep integration with emerging technologies, and expanding into more application areas has become a prevailing trend.

Under the dual driving forces of policy and technology, the photovoltaic industry has already established a number of demonstration cases of intelligent power plants. Augmented Reality (AR), as an important technological tool, has been widely applied in fostering innovation and development in the photovoltaic industry.

The introduction of AR technology enables further intelligent upgrades in aspects such as maintenance, fault diagnosis, training, data analysis, and planning and design of power plants. It has become a new driving force in assisting the achievement of the "dual carbon goals."

With the support of Augmented Reality (AR), the deployment of intelligent photovoltaics is accelerating.

▶ AR Digital Twin Sandbox

With the ALVA AR application, solar power plant site managers can access a "God's eye view" and obtain real-time information about the operational status and surrounding conditions of the power plant. This aids on-site personnel in promptly identifying potential faults or anomalies, thus providing a more efficient means for ensuring the long-term stability of the power plant's operations.

▶ AR Technology Principle Presentation

By utilizing the ALVA AR application, on-site personnel can create more interactive presentations and training methods. This enables them to visually showcase the performance advantages and layout effects of photovoltaic equipment to clients in a more intuitive manner. Additionally, employees can have a hands-on experience of the basic operational processes of a photovoltaic field. These capabilities provide enterprises with innovative ways for both presentations and training sessions.

▶ AR Intelligent Inspection

Empowering the creation of a "super inspector," on-site personnel can rely on the ALVA AR application's virtual inspection points and prompts to conduct inspections at each point in the power plant. This effectively prevents errors and omissions during the inspection process. Furthermore, it enables quick identification of equipment faults and supports the viewing of equipment data and maintenance records, allowing for rapid diagnosis and problem resolution.
